his small house was designed and built by the Architect on spec on a steeply-sloping outcrop of exposed granite ledge overlooking a lower lawn area enclosed by a forest. There are no water views. The home is supported by concrete columns pinned into the upper part of the ledge, and by a solid foundation at the bottom of the slope. One enters this home at the top, and then proceeds down through several levels of the house to the living area below, with a study off to one side under the bedrooms on the upper level. A high glass wall affords views of the lawn and surrounding woods from both the living area, the kitchen at a half level above and from the entry at the top of the house.
